.   It's really a pretty simple process but then you need to make sure your articles and blogs are search engine friendly so they will get indexed with high rank. If you want to make money with your blog then you will need to optimize your pages by including your chosen keyword and a few other things that a search engine finds relevant in a search query, otherwise know as Search Engine Optimation or SEO for short.   There is no big secret formula to optimize your pages to make them more search engine friendly but really a pretty simple process that starts before you even begin to write or make your first post in a blog.   Assuming you already have a product or service to write about then first do a little keyword research on your offer. A good place to start is the Google Keyword Tool. Type in a keyword or phrase you want to use and you will get a list of other keywords and phrases and a competition value of low, medium, or high. Pick the word or phrase that is ranked "low" or a lower "medium" competition rating. You don't want to try to compete against others using high ranked words. Using your keywords. Once you have chosen your keywords or phrase then follow these suggestions while writing your article or blog.
  • Keywords in <title> tag
  • Keywords in URL of your page
  • Keyword density in document text - Around 1.5 to 3% or a keyword about every 100 words.
  • Keywords in anchor text
  • Keywords in headings (<H1>, <H2>, etc. tags)
  • Frequency of content change - Huge plus to search engines
Backlinks are very important for SEO. Many factors determine how Google will rank your site by the number and relevance of backlinks.
What are good backlinks for SEO:
  • Anchor text of inbound links
  • Origin of inbound links - you want a link from reputable sites
  • Links from .edu and .gov sites - A huge plus if you can get them
  • Number of backlinks - The more relevant the better
  • Links from directories
There are a few things that can hurt your ranking which include:
  • Keyword dilution - use of too many other keywords - can loose your main keyword
  • Keyword stuffing - Don't overly use your keywords - 10% or more can get you banned from the search engine
  • Outbound links to link farms and other suspicious sites
  • Cross-linking
  • Single pixel links - We can't see them bug search engine can and they don't like them.
